POLICE are holding 15 suspects alleged to have burnt down a Bethania Church at Donge area in Tanga Region on Friday night. Tanga Regional Police Commander (RPC) Constantine Massawe, told the 'Daily News' over the phone that the suspects were arrested in the same night at different areas in the city, saying police were still investigating the matter. Mr Massawe further said there were no any reports of casualties from the incident whereby properties whose value was not established burnt to ashes, saying police were sorting out the 15 suspects before taking them to court. "We are also investigating the matter whereby unknown people attempted to burn down another place of worship christened Miracle Revival Church at Makokola in the city," said the RPC. Meanwhile, Police in Mbeya Region are holding a farmer suspected to have killed one Faustino Lulambo (55) at Madibila area in Mbarali, Mbeya Region on Wednesday last week. Mbeya Regional Police Commander (RPC), Diwani Athumani, said the incident occurred at rice farms at around 10 am, saying Faustino died because of excessive bleeding after he was hit by a sharp object on his head. "The suspect, who was identified as Emmanuel Mlagala (28), was taken to police after being discharged from Madibila Health Centre after he had sustained injuries in the brawl," he said. He said the brawl ensued after Mlagala had suspected the deceased that he had stolen his mobile phone whose value was not known, saying police were still investigating the incident to establish circumstances behind the incident. Mr Athumani said the deceased's body was taken to Madibila Health Centre for preservation pending the burial arrangement.
